1John 3:1a See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we are called children of God. And that is what we are!
God calls himself our father 265 times in the bible. Most of these can be found in the New Testament because through Christ we have a new identity as adopted children of God. We can call him ABBA, Father (Roman's 8:15).
Our God is a Good, Good father. He wants the very best for his children. Some of us may have not have had this example while in childhood. Your father may have been unavailable, unkind or uncaring. Our God is none of these. He wants to his bless children abundantly. He loves us beyond measure and is for us. He wants us to have a hope and prosperous life. Unfortunately our will gets in the way sometimes. I have prayed prayers in the past that have basically asked God that MY will be done. I can't ask God to bless my life and have HIS will then insert mine. He has gone before us (Deuteronomy 31:8). He knows what's up ahead, so we need to trust him completely with our lives to have the abundance he has promised. 2 Corinthians 9:8 says; And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every work. Wow, that verse is FOR us!! God wants us to live our best lives with him. He is the provider of all our needs. He is the ultimate cheerleader. Today think of areas of our lives we need to surrender. Those parts we may not have given him dominion over. Surrender all, so he can release his favor today. Our best lives are promised. Jesus is enough!
