Daily Devotional: Day 29
Hope for future generations
Guam and American Somoa
Psalm 22: 30-31 Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn, for he has done it.
Kevin finds a friend wherever we go. Pretty soon they are following each other like they have known each other his entire four years of life. They are life long friends and will do and think whatever the other does. As teenagers our children forget how to think for themselves. They allow their friends to dictate their ideology. If we want our children to serve the Lord they must hear it from us; their parents. We must model the discipline of serving God. I have listened to so many over the years tell me they will allow their children to chose their religion. If we don't teach Gods word and relationship to our children they will seek it out from the world. The world's doctrine teaches the seven deadly sins; gluttony,
pride, greed, envy, sloth, wrath and lust. All things contrary to Gods laws. These will surely bring spiritual and physical death. It isn't enough anymore to assume the church is even teaching the gospel to our children. So many churches have fallen from the truth of God's word and teach an "inclusive" watered down message. We must reinforce the biblical teachings of Jesus in our homes. The feel good message of the world has brought America to its knees. Just watch the news for five minutes and see as the worlds doctrine is played out in looting, defiance and hatred. I'm grieved with so many as we watch America burn. Stand up for the next generation. Pray for revival and a great harvest as America is shaken. This battle will be won, not with fists raised but on bended knee; the true posture of repentance. Amen and Amen!
