Daily Devotional: Day 22
Missouri and Montana
1 Peter 5: 2-3 Be shepherds of Gods flock that is under your care, serving as overseers-not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
Sunday six of "my people" were baptized in the Arkansas river. What a blessing to have my husband and son serve as pastors in our small rural church. In these hard times it's these moments I hold dearest.
Church leaders are under attack, spiritual and earthly. Our mere right congregate as a body of believers is threatened. Hold these leaders up in your prayers today. They were given the task to be shepherds. They were told to preach with boldness and a strong backbone; yet many have chosen to follow the worldly culture and watered down gospel. They have stepped away from real meat of Gods word and chosen milk toast. They have preached the "prosperity" message. They have bowed to seekers to be inclusive. They ignored the truth of Gods word to insure the seats in the forum and coffers are filled. God says, "Enough and No More" Just as he chased the money changers from the temple (John 2 12- 25) he will clean up the American church. His bride isn't white, we have dumbed down and dirty upped the word of God. We allowed the filth of the worlds gospel to pollute Gods house. We have no right. It's not our house, it's Gods.
It's His word or no word!
Pray for Ministers and Pastors to have a strong backbone and to preach the truth of God. It includes love for sinners but not for sin...period. Amen.
