Fast Pray and Read: day 6
Genesis 14:20b And Abram gave him(King of Salem) Melchizedek a tenth of everything he had.
This passage tells us Abram, before God changes his name to Abraham, shows reverence to the high priest King Melchizedek, a foreshadow of Jesus, by gifting him a tithe. I have over the years remembered the verse; "for where your treasure is, so will your heart be also", Matthew 6:21
As Christians where is our tithe going? Where do we store our treasure?... In the losing pleasures of the world or into the everlasting kingdom of God?.
Do we allow the world's narrative to steal our nation, money, ideology and worship or do we turn towards Jesus. As America literally fights for it's life these next few weeks can we reflect and pray on how we can just follow Jesus. No matter what, He alone is our savior, king and provider. We need not to look to the world for approval but only to Jesus and lay it ALL at His feet.
PLEASE be in prayer and fasting these next two weeks. God will do a mighty work for His people because we ask. Lay your treasure at the feet of Jesus. Pledge your worldly treasures to further God's kingdom, the ONE that lives forever and ever. AMEN!
