Paws and Ponder
Good early morning.
Only 5 days until Christmas and I'm sitting next to the lit up tree with a loyal friend. I should be stressing out, I haven't finished my shopping, wrapped a single family gift or even figured out what to buy my adult children.
But instead I've decided to sip my coffee, read my first 15 devotional and just breathe. I find it funny I had to give myself permission this morning to just "Be". Tis the season to feel...
Stressed, Sad, Anxious and Overwhelmed.
I don't believe God ever had those words in mind when He sent His only Son, Jesus to be born and save us all from our sins. Why has this season become more a burden then the blessed time it should be. The overwhelming feeling to meet expectations no one ever could. The incredible amount of money spent on items that in 3 months will be sold at the Thrift Store for a quarter of what was spent. Why did we allow the real reason for this season to be stolen and given to a world where nothing is EVER enough. I ask us all to step back and remember why we celebrate Christmas in the first place. Remember the "Who" we are supposed to be celebrating not the "What" I did or didn't get.
John 3:16...For God gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life and not perish.
The real reason...for the season
