Beyond the white picket fence

Paws and Ponder

Mark 4:22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out in the open.

6am Friday morning.

My sister-in-law was making coffee and noticed the cake I made the night before, for a luncheon this afternoon was half eaten. She showed me the pan saying," I think one of the dogs got into the cake". Hmmm, does anyone know a dog who would eat half a cake? Whole cake, Yes! Half a cake, No way!

We all want to keep our imperfections hidden. The fear of sharing our pain will leave us exposed and open to ridicule. On the outside we are baked, frosted and topped with rainbow colored sprinkles. Oh, but on the inside, we are like half eaten cake. We carry the chewed up, clawed at, crumbs of our past. We were never meant to bear the heavy pack of life alone. We were made to share and lift each other up. The world would have us believe everyone’s lives are what is seen on social media, PERFECT! The feeling left, “ I’m flawed”. That lie is destroying this generation. Not one gets through life unscathed. We are all half eaten cake. We need to support each other. Allow the pain of life to be exposed so we can encourage one another, pray together and carry each other’s burdens.

~I'll post who or what ate the cake on Tuesday's blog~
