Paws and Ponder
Proverbs 13: 24 He who spares the rod (accountability) hates his child, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
Scout 10 weeks and into everything.
Turn my back and this pup jumps into the laundry, steals a sock and chews it up.
If I'm not paying attention he will actually shred and try to eat it. At his vet visit we discussed what they have found in the stomachs of puppies (it isn't nice either). I'm sure you have a story, one better or more disgusting then the next of what your dog has eaten. If I didn't love him, I'd let him get away with this naughty behavior. I do love him! I discipline him out of my concern for him. It's for his good that I take the time to teach him what's good for him.
So it should be with us. God said if you love your child then discipline them in love. Take the time to parent and show by example what is acceptable and moral behavior. I have heard many a time from my foster children that I'm mean and don't love them because they have consequences for their actions. My comment is, " because I care and LOVE you I can't let you get away with"... whatever their offense is. Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs any of us will have. It's exhausting, exasperating and exhilarating.
