Beyond the white picket fence

Warriors of God, Men of Courage

By Dale Nuss

Isaiah 6 verse 8

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said “Here am I send me!”

I have have been reading different statistics and most are saying that today more than 40 million people are trapped in human trafficking around the world; Sold into prostitution, forced labor and other dangerous situations. Victims are helpless and children make up one third of the human trafficking victims.

With that being said I’m going to tell you a story about a little girl from Myamar (Burma). I’m going to call this little girl Flower. When Flower was four her father was holding her when the Burmese army came into their village and tried to force him to go with them. When Flowers Father refused they shot him in the head. Flower and her mother were forced to run and ended up in a refugee camp on the Thai/Burma boarder. When Flower was eight she witnessed a drunken Burmese soldier stab her mother to death. Flower went on the run fearing she would be killed too. Flower was eventually sold into slavery. At the age of 15 by the Grace of God Flower was rescued by the UNHCR and brought to the United States. Flower is now 23, has a job and dreams of working with children. Flower is loved by her family and I am proud to call her my Daughter.

This is the story of one child out of thousands, even millions that are still out there suffering horrific situations. Warriors of God, Men of Courage when are you going to answer the voice of the Lord? When are we going to stand up as the men, God has called us to be and say, "Here am I send me".
